My DIY Garrard LAB 80 rig

My DIY Garrard LAB 80 rig Tube. Duration : 1.03 Mins.

My first test of my DIY manual turntable, based on a Garrard LAB 80 and a home made tone arm. Arm is made of a carbon fiber arrow shaft, parts from a Garrard GT25 and a hard drive bearing. The cartridge is a vintage Shure M91e. Great cartridge, I'd say. But I'm an amature and easily pleased. But I can honestly say that this rig sounds better than either my Dual 1264 or Pioneer PL-41. I had a feeling the quality would be good, but not this good. Unfortunately, my Panasonic DMC-LZ7 mic can't reproduce the sound quality well. Little Feat - "Time Loves a Hero" is spinning. It's a beautiful thing people!!
